Creating a personal customer experience with Big Data

Creating a personal customer experience with Big Data

Marketers have gotten away from providing an individualized experience for the customer.  By embracing newer mediums of retaining information from customers, understanding your company’s niche will be much easier than going at it utilizing archaic methods.  According to NGData.com, Customer expectations have moved on, but customer acquisition strategies have not.  The ROI on investing in targeting your market is detrimental to the overall success of your plan.  For example, more targeted digital ads lead to a 25% higher conversion that results in $3.5 million in savings in yearly digital ad spend (Datameer.com).

How do we use Big Data in order to create a personal customer experience?

Focus on one customer.  Yes, a single customer.  Identify your optimal customer for your business and look at your data.  Does your data describe their needs and their wants?  Does your product appeal to them?  If not, then you potentially have bad data and need to look at your information collection strategy.  An article in TargetMarketingMag.com says understanding the ability to identify the best customers will create a means of targeted and personalized customer acquisition.

How do I identify my market?

Rystems.com suggests collecting large amounts of data to create customer segments based on their likeliness to purchase your product or service and whether they believe it has long term value (LTV).  When a single customer is chosen from the most optimal group your organization decides to target, develop a predictive analysis to convert into actionable customer insights.

Testing your theory

Liam Brown from SideStep Coaching discusses in an article from NGData.com to identify your target markets and offer a promotion.  He uses an example of offering a seminar to mortgage brokers.  By promoting a topic that appeals to that particular niche, you are more likely to gain attendance.  If there is not any feedback or lack of interest in attending, go back to the drawing board.  Develop a more focused topic for your seminar.  Understand your market, their trends, and the kinds of topics they are interested in now.  Your turnout will be highly affected by the appeal of the topic to your single customer.

Currently society beliefs want to know why they should buy your product or service.  What is their appeal to them?  By focusing on your ideal customer, you are able to narrow down exactly what they are looking for when it comes to your business’ offering.  This, in turn, will assist future product development geared toward your optimal customer, sales, and a product development that will have a positive impact on your ROI.

More Exposed to Superbug in the Second Largest Hospital in L.A.

News Article written for a test

More Exposed to Superbug in the Second Largest Hospital in L.A.

The second largest hospital in Los Angeles has reported an outbreak of “superbugs”, drug resistant infections, and more patients are expected to be exposed. Almost two years ago, the maker of medical scopes started warning hospitals in Europe that there was a risk of a potential outbreak and they would need to prepare. The Food and Drug Administration has issued a warning to use extra caution when after use of the dirty medical scopes which have been linked to the “superbug” outbreak.

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center has already reported four of these “superbug” infections and has identified the drug resistant bacteria as E. Coli. There are also 67 more patients at risk at Cedsar-Sinai who are at risk. Those infected in the Los Angeles area have had to battle a different germ called carbapenem-Resistant Enterobacteriaceae, or CRE.

The instrument and procedure which was used at all three was hospitals that is linked to the infections are the same. They all utilize the duodenoscope that is used during a procedure using its flexible tubes to be threaded down the throat and stomach used to treat gallstones, certain cancers, and other digestive system disorders. Without proper cleaning, patients will succumb to infection of the “superbug”. The duodenoscope has been linked to infections for more than a decade but the most recent infections have involved bacteria resistant to antibiotics which makes them more dangerous than before.

Fatality rates for CRE can run from 40% to 50%. The procedure using the duodenoscope is called endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography or ERCP which is performed on about 500,000 patients nationally. Some critics might suggest a more invasive procedure.

According to Colleen Schmitt, a physician and president of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, "Some of these patients (needing ERCP) are very sick and to take them into a surgical procedure could be risky," she says, noting that ERCP is "less invasive than surgical options."

The FDA announced that there is a possibility that there are over 135 cases of the “superbug” infection, however, they have not been reported in order to accurately tell the severity of the outbreak.

Olympus, the largest distributor of duodenoscope, with a 70%, market share, did not issue a warning until February of this year regarding the potential infections that could be caused by their device without proper cleaning. However, Olympus did warn their European clients up to two years prior. Apparently, there was a lag in communication regarding their product in the U.S. In both 2013 and 2014, Olympus sent out safety alerts in Europe after complaints were made regarding debris that was left on their devices even after they were cleaned and disinfected. It was not until this year, when infections were linked to their devices, Olympus took ownership of the problem and issued a warning. Also, the FDA did receive those complaint letters from Europe but did not issue a statement either.

Both Cedars-Sinai and UCLA reports offering potentially exposed patients home-testing kits. They have both reported improvements in their disinfecting procedures.

What is Warfarin

What is Warfarin

Evergreen article written as a test

_______________________________________________________________________

About Warfarin

Warfarin is a widely prescribed prescription drug used to prevent blood clots. This drug is beneficial for those with severe conditions to control heart attacks or strokes, however, complications from Warfarin could be fatal as well.

What Warfarin is

Warfarin is a prescription drug used to assist in preventing the formation of blood clots. It was first created in 1948 to be used as a pesticide. In the early 1950s, it was discovered that it was also effective in preventing thrombosis and thromboembolism. Unlike other medications of its kind, anticoagulants, Warfarin is not a blood thinner, which is normally used for blood clots, but this medication slows down the blood so it takes longer to clot.

Since Warfarin is only used to decrease the possibility of clotting, it is important to monitor when the medication is prescribed. Good clots that prevent or stop bleeding would be affected by the medication. The medication does not stop clotting from stopping but needs to be adjusted if it is interfering with other normal body processes such as healing from a cut. The dosage is determined but conducting a test on how long it takes blood to clot. It will be adjusted in order to get the optimal usage from the drug.

The major issues with Warfarin

As mentioned before, there could be serious complications when taking Warfarin. Abnormal bleeding is a common side effect of the medication. Warfarin is known to cause adverse effects on the body and has been the culprit of hospitalizations including fatal bleeding which could be caused by a minor accident or spontaneously. Other serious side effects include skin necrosis, unusual bruising, and hair loss.

Why there are lawsuits due to the usage of Warfarin

It is difficult to determine the dosage of Warfarin. There is no exact methodology on prescribing the right amount to be taken. There is a thin line between the right amount of medication and an overdose. Physicians are responsible for monitoring whether a patient is at risk for blood clots. Those physicians who do not take special care with this regard will end up with hospitalized patients due to blood clotting or an overdose of the Warfarin drug. If this is the case, the lack of care provided by the physician while prescribing this sensitive drug will lead to a lawsuit for malpractice. Severe symptoms of the Warfarin drug need medical attention.   If those needs are not met, it could lead to several complications including death.

Winter Park R...

Orlando, Florida is not just for those wanting to visit the mouse or ride the train that takes you to Hogwarts, it's also a place with history, a growing food culture, and natural beauty.

If you want to take a step off the beaten path, one of the best places to stay near Orlando, Florida is Winter Park. It is only 10 minutes from downtown. After driving by the beautiful Rollins College campus, you will be able to tell you aren’t in Kansas anymore.

Start your adventure off on Saturday morning at their famous farmer’s market, where you can try artisan foods and check out the local vendors. When leaving, make sure to walk through the beautiful rose garden that takes you straight onto Park Avenue. After all the walking, take a load off and jump onto the scenic boat tour on the Winter Park chain of Lakes that is within walking distance. The true beauty of Florida will fill your senses with beautiful flowers and old, majestic homes. No worries, the gators can’t get you on the boat.

Being out on the open water would definitely start up some sort of hunger pang. It’s a good thing that Park Avenue is full of top-notch restaurants. I would recommend the cheese platter at Park South 310, or chef inspired food at Luma on Park, or if you want something sweet, have some artisan chocolates at Peterbrooke Chocolatier. Don’t forget to walk off all of the food by taking a stroll past many shops down Park Avenue.

One of my favorite places to let the hours go by is at the Wine Room on Park Avenue, especially after a day of walking. They have a huge selection so no need to commit to just one unless you really like it. I have found some of my new favorite wines at the Wine Room.

Winter Park is just one place that you can escape the chaos of crazy lines and costumed characters. There are so many other gems in Orlando that tend to get missed. I would highly recommend taking a day to enjoy what Orlando, Florida has to offer.

Tips on Sneaking Your Best Friend, Wine, into the Movie Theater

You’re ready to go to the movies but you don’t want to forget your best friend, wine. So how do you get it into the movie theater without being inconspicuous? Here are some tips:

  1. If your wine has a cork, it would be smart to transfer it to another bottle. Something that is not clear would work best. Make sure this bottle has some sort of seal so that it doesn’t leak into whatever you stash it in.
  2. Put the bottle into that really cute boho purse you have in the closet. No one will expect your fashion statement would have your tasty treat enclosed.
  3. Buy your ticket, walk to the theater, walk in, choose a seat, wait until the movie is just about to start, take out your bottle, and enjoy the movie while you sip.

This surefire method will work every time. Enjoy!
